Overview
Problem
Users struggle to find movies they'll actually enjoy. Existing platforms rely on basic genre filtering — there was no AI-driven matching that understands nuanced user preferences.
Approach
Built the full stack from scratch — a quiz flow where users answer a series of preference questions, with OpenAI turning the answers into personalized movie recommendations. A second AI-powered feature suggests similar movies based on a title the user already likes. Next.js with Google Authentication, MongoDB for user data, and TMDB API for movie metadata round out the stack.
